Organization
IT Services at the Department of Computer Science (D-INFK).
Three entities offer IT support and manage IT services for the D-INFK: the
IT Services of ETH Zurich (ITS), the IT Services Group of D-INFK (
isginf), and the IT Coordinators in the groups.
The ITS centrally manages various services like the whole network infrastructure, security monitoring, server rooms, and mail facilities.
The
isginf is the main responsible for the administration of the IT infrastructure for the whole D-INFK according to the
isginf guidelines. It provides several
services and coordinate the IT support.
Every D-INFK group (i.e. professor) has an
IT Coordinator who represents the interface between the group and the
isginf. IT Coordinators are the main contact for IT issues and problems for the group. In most groups PhD students take the role of IT Coordinators.

The head of the
isginf directly reports to the head of the department (D-INFK). The

isginf and the management of the D-INFK on strategic issues. These issues comprise, in particular, the current and future services of the
isginf, resources and budget, and the technical concept of the IT infrastructure.
