Network
All network services at ETH network are provided and managed by the
IT Services of ETH Zurich.
isginf facilitates access, manages the
D-INFK network topology and firewall and provides first-level support.
Network connectivity at the ETH campus comes in two flavors:

VPN from your device for a secure connection from anywhere to the ETH network.
DNS Servers
We recommend to use DHCP to configure network interfaces. When using a
static configuration, please use the following DNS servers:

Private Network
For running virtual machines, containers (docker, podman, etc.) or similar systems a private network is often used. Many default to
192.168.0.0/24 or similar but this network is in use at ETH. In particular docker uses a large network range that is used for important services at ETH that will not be reachable anymore.
ETH Has reserved the following address space for this purpose which can be divided further if multiple networks are needed:
